About Us

Himalayan Outdoor Development started as a passion project for the three of us - Bharat, Prerna and Anil. We realised that despite a small community high on stoke, the Indian climbing fraternity lacked the infrastructure and facilities to grow. Affordable infrastructure and climbing facilities are the very foundation for any climbing community. Having worked in the outdoors for over 10 years in India as well as abroad, we saw that the Indian climbing scene needed to be developed further before independent climbers could start developing crags and opening new lines consistently. 
 

That’s where HOD came in.

Himalayan Outdoor Development aims to establish a platform through which climbers can get to access various kinds and levels of technical climbing in a safe environment.
HOD aims to foster a culture where climbers are aware of the possibilities in the world of climbing and are able to pursue them. Our courses on ice climbing, rock climbing, and mountaineering courses are designed with a primary focus on mentoring athletes and guiding them towards newer, better opportunities.
